| Our
studio is physically arranged by our
workflow - starting with the scanning,
then proceeding to image processing
and color management and finishing
with the printing. We varnish
media and stretch canvas Giclées alongside
this primary flow line.
Image Capture
We have
one of the finest image capture
systems on the planet, the Better
Light Super 8K Image Capture
System. Only about 135 of these
exist. With
more than a quarter BILLION
pixels and
14 bits of dynamic
range, light-to-dark, it captures
the subtlest of
details in shadows, midtones and
highlights. If
you can bring us your original
artwork,
this direct-to-digital photographic
technique is by far and away the
best you can get to document
your paintings.
Lighting
To illuminate your originals, we
have the brilliant Northlight
fine
art lighting
system. It emits
sheets of light uniformly
across a full color spectrum
simulative of the sun. It
also reduces nuisance UV light
to levels significantly less
than museums
allow.
Color Management
We make extensive use of Color
Management Tools and best practices
that are in full compliance with
standards set
by the International
Color Consortium. Because we
measure everything, including
the measurement devices themselves,
we found opportunities for making
things better. So, in addition
to what's available to our industry,
you'll find we have something
extra: tools and software developed
by CloudWatchers. This combination gets
you the very best ... subtle
hue, luminance and saturation
details.
Raster Image Processing
The Wasatch RIP, embellished with
our own software improvements,
enables us to get the most
out of our printers. It enables
us to bypass canned printer drivers
and directly control the nozzles
and maximize inkflow. For you,
this means you get one of the
biggest color ranges available
and predictable, precise and accurate
image rendition.
Printers
We have the highest end, large
format Hewlett Packard and Epson
printers. These were developed
specifically for archival, high
quality
imaging applications. Equipped
with large color gamut, archival,
pigmented UV-resistant inks,
they render color using
fine-grained
picoliter droplets blended
using the latest multi-layering
technologies.
Archiving System
As we capture your images, document
your work and create
Giclée files, our
archiving system quietly records
all the data and all the images
onto two dissimilar
archival media. While not a guarantee,
if you call us in one month
or five years,
then we can likely retrieve
the image information and reproduce
your
painting as a fine art Giclée.
